Hello and come to Leacock. The ghosts of the hotel and Jack burned down with it. While it was burning down they had fled the place on a snowmobile. The most memorable character for me was Jack because he was really weird and his thoughts were the ones of a madman. He really swore a lot and by the end of the book he was totally insane. And what was really unique about him was that he really took a beating in the book and maybe it was him or maybe it was the hotel doing it but he tore up his own face so that he can finally try to kill his son. Some of the surprises that happened during the book that kept me interested was that when Winnifred and Danny had locked Jack in the kitchen but the hotel's ghosts had opened it for him. And after he was out there was a little fight between Winni and Jack where he tried to kill her but she had stabbed him and he fell down as if he was dead but as it turned out he wasn't. When Jack was just on top of Danny and was going to smash the mallet into his head he was just reminded of the boiler. It was a really suspenseful book and you didn't know what Jack was going to do, where he was and it was very suspenseful even when a character was just walking through a hallway. I think the ending was effective because it was somewhat of a happy ending but it was a realistic one and that is what made the ending a believable ending. What made the ending realistic was the fact that most of the characters in the book were either badly hurt or were dead by the ending of the novel. The book on the whole was a believable one because it gave reasons for that book being that certain way. Dear Stephen King I felt that The Shining is a great book with lots of descriptive content and had a very good plot. It was a very suspenseful book but I think it could have been a little better if there had been more than four main characters and if you had killed more people than one. One question that I wanted to ask you about the book was that if the book was inspired by anything that happened to you in real life. Your faithful fan, Jeyananthan Click Here
